Who We Are

From a training-focused organisation to an integrated development partner.

We started as a training-focused organisation and have grown into an integrated development partner. Rather than treating each programme area as a stand-alone project, we treat them as four pillars resting on one shared foundation.

What has to change, and in what order, for a household or community to move permanently out of poverty?

The answer, for us, is rarely a single programme. It is skills plus systems plus sustained local leadership.

What We Do

Four mutually reinforcing streams of work.

These four areas are not run in isolation. Leadership Development runs underneath the other three, because weak leadership and weak systems are what cause livelihood, food-security, and gender-equity gains to collapse once outside support ends.

Pillar 01 Vocational training and livelihood skills
Livelihood • Cooperatives • Enterprise
Creating Prosperity

Poverty Alleviation

We equip individuals and households with livelihood, vocational, and entrepreneurial skills; deliver financial-literacy training; and support the formation of cooperatives, small enterprises, and savings groups so people can build, grow, and protect an income.

Pillar 02 Tree nursery and agroforestry seedlings
Agroforestry • Regenerative Farming
Preserving Food & Soil

Environmental Conservation & Food Security

We train farmers and community members in climate-smart and regenerative agriculture, run conservation education and campaigns, and support agroforestry, water management, and sustainable farming so food systems can withstand climate and environmental shocks.

Pillar 03 Women empowerment and girl-child education
Girl-Child • Women's Enterprises
Dignity, Education & Justice

Women Empowerment & Girl-Child Education

We support girls to enrol in and stay in school through scholarships, learning materials, and mentorship, and we run economic and leadership empowerment programmes for women — alongside community dialogue that challenges the cultural norms holding women and girls back.

Governance • Institutional Systems
The Shared Foundation

Leadership Development

We train emerging and existing leaders in governance and institutional systems, and pair them with structured mentorship and peer-learning, so that the institutions carrying our work forward — cooperatives, women's groups, community associations — are led with skill and accountability.

Why We Exist

Four barriers reinforce each other. So do our responses.

Weak leadership limits the institutional capacity needed to sustain livelihoods and conservation gains. Poverty pushes girls out of school and drives unsustainable land use. The exclusion of women from leadership and economic life slows progress across every other area.

One barrier feeds the next. This is why we interrupt at multiple points at once.

Relief addresses a symptom for a season. Capable people and capable systems address the cause, permanently.

1

Widespread Poverty

Limited access to sustainable livelihoods across underserved communities.

2

Environmental Degradation

Food insecurity driven by unsustainable land and resource use.

3

Gender Inequality

Restricting women's economic participation and girls' access to education.

4

Weak Leadership Systems

Institutional capacity gaps at household, community, and organisational level.
